In the context of rising global demand for healthy nuts and plant-based snacks, the Vietnam cashew industry continues to maintain strong growth momentum in early 2026. Positive signals from key markets such as the United States and China have reinforced Vietnam’s position as a leading Vietnam cashew supplier and one of the world’s top processors of premium cashew kernels.

In the first two months of 2026, Vietnam exported nearly 75,000 tons of cashew nuts, reaching over USD 513 million, an increase of approximately 13% year-on-year. This growth follows the upward trend from January, when global demand for healthy snack products and cashew nuts entered its peak season. The United States remained the largest market, with export value exceeding USD 120 million, accounting for around one-quarter of total exports. Meanwhile, China and the EU continued to play key roles in Vietnam cashew exports, contributing approximately 21% and over 10% of total export value, respectively. However, exports to the EU in February showed slight signs of slowdown, reflecting short-term fluctuations in demand and order volumes.

Beyond traditional markets, Southeast Asia is emerging as a promising growth region, demonstrating the effectiveness of Vietnam’s market diversification strategy. This expansion not only enhances competitiveness but also strengthens Vietnam’s reputation as a reliable bulk cashew exporter and global cashew supplier.

Despite market fluctuations, the outlook for the Vietnam cashew industry remains positive. Vietnam currently supplies around 80% of the world’s cashew kernel exports, including high-demand grades such as W240 and W320 cashew kernels, and is targeting USD 5 billion in export value by 2026. However, the industry continues to face external challenges, particularly rising logistics costs driven by geopolitical instability and exchange rate volatility. These pressures directly impact profitability, requiring businesses to optimize operations, improve supply chain efficiency, and adapt quickly to changes in the global market.

With continuous improvements in quality, processing capabilities, and international standards compliance, Vietnam is expected to further strengthen its position as a leading cashew exporter from Vietnam, delivering high-quality cashew nuts to markets worldwide.
